Chart-topping DJ David Guetta has said “the future of music is in AI” after he used the technology to feature a vocal in the style of Eminem to a modern-day song.
The DJ used artificial intelligence sites to create lyrics and a rap within the fashion of the united states famous person for a live display.The French manufacturer has said he’ll not launch the tune commercially.
But he stated he thinks musicians will use AI as a device to create new sounds in the future, because of the truth “each new song style comes from a modern era”.
Speaking to BBC track correspondent Mark Savage at the Brit Awards, Guetta stated: “I’m certain the destiny of music is in AI. For certain. There’s absolute confidence. But as a tool.”Guetta obtained the award for great producer at Saturday’s rite.
“Nothing is going to replace flavor,” he stated. “What defines an artist is, you have a positive flavor, you have a sure kind of emotion you need to explicit, and also you’re going to use all of the modern-day devices to do this.”
He compared AI to gadgets that have led to musical revolutions in the past.
“Probably there would be no rock ‘n’ roll if there has been no electric powered guitar. There would be no acid residence without the Roland TB-303 [bass synthesiser] or the Roland TR-909 drum gadget. There could be no hip-hop without the sampler.
“I suppose simply AI would possibly define new musical styles. I believe that each new music style comes from a new technology.”
He told the BBC he posted it “because I just wanted to open the discussion and bring awareness”.
“It’s very funny, actually, because a lot of people are reacting. Some of them are like, ‘Oh, this is genius.’ Some of them are getting super mad at me, but I’m not going to release the record.
“It is impossible to think that it’s a real collab, but it sounds exactly like him [Eminem],” he added.
Some lovers reacting to his Twitter publish have been inspired with the experiment, however others had been less keen, with YouTube and TikToker Bilawal Sidhu tweeting: “And here is the trouble with the nation of AI proliferation these days. Handcuffed creativity.”
