The Spanish giants went into the second leg at Stamford Bridge level on aggregate with Chelsea after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, but produced a dominant performance to secure a 2-0 win.

The first half was a cagey affair, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. However, the game burst into life in the second half, with Real Madrid taking the lead through a brilliant strike from Karim Benzema. The French striker controlled a cross from Vinicius Junior before unleashing a stunning volley past Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal.

Chelsea responded well and had a number of chances to equalize, with Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount both coming close. However, Real Madrid’s defense held firm, with Sergio Ramos and Nacho producing a series of crucial blocks and interceptions.

Real Madrid then doubled their lead in the 85th minute, with Eden Hazard scoring against his former club. The Belgian winger was introduced as a substitute in the second half and made an immediate impact, rounding Mendy to slot the ball into an empty net.

For Chelsea, the defeat is a bitter disappointment, coming just a week after they reached the final of the FA Cup. They will now turn their attention to securing a top-four finish in the Premier League and ensuring qualification for next season’s Champions League.
