The ICC has unveiled the candidates for the Players of the Month for September.

In Dubai, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the ICC Men's Player of the Month awards, showcasing the world's top international cricketers after an eventful September. The shortlist includes a prolific short-format batsman from England and a dynamic Indian duo who played a vital role in their triumphant Asia Cup campaign the previous month, as per the ICC's official statement.

Shubman Gill (IND) In 2023, Shubman Gill, the Indian batsman, has had a highly successful year, making him a strong contender for his second Player of the Month award. In September, he amassed a remarkable 480 runs in eight ODIs at an impressive average of 80. His standout performances included a stylish century against Bangladesh in Colombo and back-to-back scores of 74 and 104 against Australia.

Dawid Malan (ENG) Dawid Malan, the English batsman, entered the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in exceptional ODI form, earning the Player of the Series accolade in a recent series victory against New Zealand at home. His batting improved with each match, with a half-century in the second game, followed by a tantalizing 96 at the Oval, and ultimately reaching the century mark in the final match at Lord's. Throughout September, he accumulated 277 ODI runs with an outstanding average of 92.33.

Mohammed Siraj (IND) In September, the fast bowler Mohammed Siraj reclaimed his position as the top-ranked bowler in the MRF Tyres ICC Men's ODI rankings. His remarkable performance in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka in Colombo was the highlight, as he took a total of 11 wickets in six ODIs. However, his most memorable moment came when he dismantled the defending champions, dismissing them for a mere 50 runs. His extraordinary performance included a remarkable over where he took four wickets while conceding just 21 runs.
